Broadmeadows Farm
At Broadmeadows Farm your child will get plenty of hands on experience with all of our horses. Students will learn from the ground up how to put a halter on their horse to riding independently in the ring with knowledgeable instructors. If you're looking for excellent foundation skills, Broadmeadows if the Farm for you! We believe that students should learn how to tack up a horse on their own, which includes: grooming, saddling, bridling, and tacking down their horse. It is very important to us that our students learn how to do all of these things in order to be a well rounded rider.
Our students really enjoy preparing for shows that are held at home as well as shows that are off the property. We plan many trips to Tyler State Park for the students to go on fun yet relaxing trail rides.
We take pride in our lesson program with our experienced and patient riding instructors. Students start out in a private, one-on-one lesson with one of our instructors to learn the basics of riding a horse. We can assure you that you and your child will get plenty of important instruction. Students move on to semi-private lessons once they are able to steer their own horse, have a solid seat, and walk/trot independently on a horse. From a semi-private students move up to a group lesson which may consist of four or more riders. Students learn how to manage their horse while there are others in the ring. This prepares them for more challenging instruction and how to ride with others.
